Clare trained at The Slade School of Fine Art and was Slade Prizewinner on graduation. Clare's life and experiences are distilled in her work. You'll find landscapes, political paintings, works on paper, religious themes, portraits including her own family and more. Clare is enticed by wildness and wilderness, by desert (in the Middle East) and by the lush green landscapes of her home, Cranborne Chase. Clare is also an inspirational teacher, running weekly courses in Blandford and a vibrant summer school. Clare has a gallery at her home in Minchington (near Farnham). Clare's paintings have been bought by a wide range of people from Robert Winston to Baroness Corston, from Penny in Sixpenny Handley to the National University of Ireland in Galway.
